The Rock Band is for playing musical instruments and singing. The Rock Band's popularity has exceeded expectations and we now have a full complement of musicians and vocalists. A waiting list is to be started otherwise we will end up with an orchestra and choir.
The Vintage Cheddar Rock Band would like to thank all our u3a members and guests who came and supported our events during the last year at Cheddar Village Hall. It was lovely to see so many of you there and you were all dancing the night away. We also had a great time and it’s always a pleasure performing for such a lovely audience.

Our October event for the Children's Hospice.
The Cheddar Valley's very own Vintage Cheddar Rock Band held a sellout Rock & Roll evening in aid of the Children's Hospice and raised a whopping £650! This was a fun event organised by the Fellowship of the Knights of the Round Table of King Arthur at Cheddar Community Pavilion.
Lookout for our last event of the year on the 22 November in aid of the Cheddar Village Hall restoration.

The Spring event was completely free to members and a collection was held for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance. We received this letter of thanks:-
On behalf of Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, I would like to thank you for your very generous donation of £458.31 raised from your Rock Band Spring Dance.
Thanks to your support, our crew are continuing to provide a critical care service for 19 hours a day, both by air and by road, through very close cooperation with our NHS colleagues across the region. We are also in a position to help move patients between hospitals if that is required, by road or air, whichever is the most appropriate. Clearly at a time when clinical staff in hospitals are under pressure, this is a real benefit.
With each mission costing approximately £3,500 and fundraising challenged in ways that we have never seen, we need your support now more than ever.
Your donation really will make a big difference and enable us to continue to be there for the patients who need us, so on behalf of all of them, thank you.
Yours sincerely
Julie Plowden
Deputy Chief Executive Officer
