Cheddar Valley

Wildlife Group

For lovers of nature and all of life around and about us. We are still looking for members to join this new Group to start enjoying our beautiful countryside here in Somerset!!

We met recently and went to the Cheddar reservoir. Lots of water birds were seen including some rare to this area (Phalarope and Curlew Sandpiper). The weather was beautiful and sunny, although windy. We met a good number of bird watchers, along the way. At next month’s meeting, we will be going to visit a Heronry where some cranes have been seen. Contact me if anyone would like to join our group as we venture on at the end of October.

Don Heath (contact details in any recent News bulletin).
